Ed Sheeran is in town. And it sucks!
Ed Sheeran was coming to town..
..and I had a chance to get tickets. There was a mad rush among my friends where the prized tickets would give bragging rights for the next decade. An opportunity of a lifetime. I had tracked Ed Sheeran ever since he hit international stardom and he was finally coming my way to perform live? Indeed, unbelievable.
How could I find out more about his life and music?
I needed a crash course on everything about him. In my mind, I had to develop Ed Sheeran's persona. Something I could imbibe and make it a part of my existence and time was short.
I jumped onto google and searched away - time-consuming and too many links showed up. Had to read through each one and the information was repeated. By the time I reached the 3rd link, I realised the incremental information I was consuming was very less and most of it was a repeat. I jumped on to Wikipedia where it gave me most information on a single page that I could easily read through. Hence, striving to get more information.
But Wikipedia left the nitty-gritty to a list of links
More to crawl and read with repeats of information because that's how it comes out. My obsession with Ed was now becoming an obsession to find out information about him in the most optimised way.
Was there a way where someone could answer questions for me? I needed a concierge service to fill me in on everything.
How soon should I get to the venue?
What sort of paraphernalia was available to buy?
What were the best places to get the best view of the performance?
How soon can I land up?
Are there any post parties going on?
What was my ticket's worth now?
Can I get a blue T-shirt with his name on it?
I could go on and on…
Who or what would fill the need?
The answer to further research of my new found interest was a chatbot. It pinpointed information to the questions I had on my mobile phone as and when the question arose. Using telegram or Facebook messenger? What an invention?
It would be an always-on personal assistant that would chase and find answers to my questions. At my beck and call. Want to order something on Ed Sheeran or Chainsmokers? Tell the bot. Want to find out how old Ed Sheeran is? Ask the bot.
How could I get this done and organised? Can I have a chatbot platform to create such a bot quickly? I could use Engati for this and the latest stuff we were working on. Load a whole bunch of information and let similarity matching and schematic search and lemmatisation take over? Use the eSense libraries to load canned docs and tell it to go seek?
Yes, I could. And I created a bot to make it happen. A wonderful combination of applying AI to a simple need to optimise my time and share information about my passion. Ed came to town and changed my life. And my chatbot made the plan and the experience perfect. Now I am designing personalized chatbots for all my areas of interest.
And now you can build one too- without any programming.
